Job Summary:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As an mobile application (Android) development engineer, you will work closely with designers, product managers and our overall development team, including our platform and infrastructure team.  You will use your passion of all things Android (and iOS as a bonus) to create and improve client features and functions that will deliver the TrueSpot experience into the palms of thousands and thousands of users.   You will support following established process.  You may be responsible for the releases and maintenance for both Apple and Google.

Qualifications & Skills: 

  • 3 years Kotlin experience  
  • 5 years Java experience 
  • Basic knowledge on related app architectures 
  • Basic understanding of HTTP protocol, JSON/XML formats, Material Design, Git, and Agile methodologies 
  • Able to apply concepts relating to DDD 
  • Strong understanding of OOP, client-API integration, UI styling concepts, and Android and iOS code deployment 
  • Deep knowledge of MVVM architecture 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Deep knowledge of BLE device communication and native APIs 
  • Deep knowledge of native location-based services and APIs 
  • Understanding of IoC and dependency injection

TrueSpot is looking for a leader to define, build and lead our Network Deployment and Field Support strategy. This leader will execute the strategy and lead the team in alignment with TrueSpot’s projected growth. This team is responsible for installing, deploying, tuning and final acceptance of TrueSpot’s Real Time Location Service (RTLS) networks. They will also be responsible for on-going site support for the networks. As a leader of this team, you will have a unique opportunity to be involved in all aspects of development of the network solutions, identify best practices, and continuously improve the product and process through concepts such as DevOps. This position is full-time and based in Plano, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Define the resource strategy for the Network Deployment/Field Support teams. The growth plan should be in alignment with the TrueSpots’ rate of growth.
  • Define and build a team to deploy and support TrueSpot’s RTLS networks.
  • Manage and lead a strong technical team responsible for installation, deployment, configuration, acceptance and support.
  • Expected to be a hands-on manager with technical depth, vision, and ability to innovate.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Procurement, Engineering, Design, and vendors to manage network deployment and operational activities.
  • Manage site documentation, coverage planning, asset inventory, and hardware sparing.
  • Manage and improve global best practices and drive consistency across deployment teams.
  • Manage and build relationships with customer at the site level.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring and building the team as deemed necessary. Majority of team expected to be out-sourced.

Minimum Qualification

  • 10+ years of experience managing a technical team, with 10+ years of experience supporting, deploying or designing networks.
  • Technical and working experience and knowledge of routing, switching, internet protocols, and monitoring.
  • Experience with process improvement and systems development, leveraging automation to streamline repetitive workflows.
  • Communication experience and experience working in a team environment.
  • Familiar with physical network install process (preferably RAN).
  • Experience with negotiating, utilizing, and managing contracting/outsource companies.
  • Physically capable to perform RTLS network installs, training, etc.
  • Experience managing many remote teams in parallel.

Preferred Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
  • Experience working in an RF/Telecom design and/or architecture.
  • Hands-on building a team and managing a team with enterprise and carrier class level support.
  • Experience analyzing situations and problem solving under pressure.
  • Experience leading a team working in a fast-paced startup team environment with limited supervision.
